Bao Richmond Hill Goubuli
Both the Juicy prok bun and Steamed bun stuffed with marinated prok and chives are disappointed. The marinated pork doesn't taste good and stuffing is not much. Juicy prok bun doesn't look right already... The salty eggs pumpkins is actually good. But the selling point of this restaurant is Bao/Bun, very sad that their signature dishes are not good.

Went to this restaurant several times. From just a small party of two to a party of 12, the high service level remained the same.Food was served steaming hot and made to order, perfect seasonings and tasted delicious.Pricing was reasonable, and the atmosphere was great and pleasant.

This is a great place for bao, or dumplings in English. There are many choices of bao and they all amazing. I tried 2 of them and they were excellent and good. We also ordered a beancurd dish and a veggie dish, both are within expectations but no surprises. On a Sat afternoon they have about 5 tables. Why? Because they charge $6 for a pot of tea and the overall prices are on high side. The restaurant is nicely decorated, quite comfy and clean. Service was prompt.

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for many years and recently, every time I was huge disappointed on there food and service.Broken plates. Service is horrible. Seems they keep forgetting our order and in the end we had to cancel. We strongly asked them “NO CILANTRO ON EVERYTHING” and came with big amounts of cilantro. It took 3 times of call to get glass of water. I also heard table next to us complained. The bun we ordered was no better than frozen one from the market, also filling was pretty small. Probably I wouldn’t go this restaurant anymore.

We first visited Goubuli Richmond Hill location this past December when our friends hosted a private VIP dinner inviting 5 full 3 full tables of adults + 1 kid tables. Each table were being served with seafood, dumplings and all the signature dishes prepared by Goubuli. The upper level is a nice private space. This was the 1st time we visited this resto and we felt in luv. They used unique ingredients, serving unique dishes that I never tried before. Mind you, I am used to HK style of food, so many of these authentic Chinese dishes are new to me.I thought this place only serves up bao and dumplings. Not quite, they also serve big dishes of seafood such as lobsters and Alaskan crab legs.In particular, we really like the cold jellyfish as appetizer. The hot bowl of pork intestine, chicken bean curb peppery soup was my favourite. The fried rice with fish roe on top was delicious.I highly recommend this place to you. Eversince of this wonderful dining experience, we brought our parents to this place and it was enjoyable. Moreover, we also invited our friends and dined at the 2nd location in Chinatown and that location is equally as good.

Been wanting to try out Goubuli since they opened, but didn't get a chance to until recently! Goubuli is a Shanghainese (?) restaurant in Richmond Hill. It shares the parking lot with many, many other notable restaurants including Yu Seafood and Shinta - so beware of parking here and arrive early if you can. The parking lot itself is a bit of a mess.My mom and I arrived around 6pm on a Friday night and was able to get a table fairly quickly. We did notice that there ended up being more people waiting after we arrived though - but mostly larger groups of 4+. They also have an upstairs level, though I'm not sure how large that is. Service throughout the meal was just okay, but we didn't really bother the staff too much or ask any questions. They also offered green tea to us, but they mentioned it was $5 a person for that! That's crazy - so we just opted for hot water. Might as well stop by Machi Machi next door and get a bubble tea for the same price. We ordered some jajangmien (black bean noodles), xiaolong baos (soupy pork dumplings), regular pork & pickled cabbage dumplings, and some veggie dish with bamboo/mushrooms/asparagus/black fungus. The best were the XLBs - $8 for 8 is a very good price that you can't find anywhere anymore and was definitely the highlight of the meal. The skin wasn't too thick and inside was steamy and juicy. The regular pork dumplings on the other hand were kind of a letdown. They tasted like the frozen ones you buy at the store and make at home - nothing special. The jajangmien was just okay. We wished there were more black bean sauce and more veggies. It was overloaded with just noodles which wasn't the best noodle to topping ratio. The biggest disappointment was the veggie dish though. It had almost no flavour and was just very bland, especially compared to the umami in the other dishes we had.I'll come back for the XLBs, and maybe to try out their peking duck, but probably not anything else.

This was a really chic and elegant restaurant. The decor and setting were pleasant. It was a nice calm place to enjoy high quality Tianjin cuisine. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was definitely a good choice to go for fine dining Chinese food. Will definitely go back again! So nice to visit again! The restaurant was elegant & spacious. We were seated upstairs this time. The seating area upstairs was very calm and quiet, but our server was still attentive and provided excellent service to us. The food was good as always and the portion was reasonable for that price. We enjoyed our dinner very much.

I think this restaurant doesn’t live up to its reputation, coz the Bao was just so-so and the handmade dumplings wasn’t even fully cooked. Other foods are just average but it’s not That good that could draw many famous pple to dine in… I’m a little disappointed

Good food. Clean tables and pleasant environment to sit and enjoy dinner. The beef, soup dumplings, cauliflower, water sprouts are great. Usually go on regular basis…
